PAUL MASSEY TO STAND AGAINST HAZEL BLEARS FOR SALFORD MP

Star date: 5th May 2012

PAUL MASSEY TO TAKE ON HAZEL BLEARS AT GENERAL ELECTION

Paul Massey, who failed to defeat Ian Stewart in yesterday's Mayor contest, has vowed to take on Hazel Blears at the next General Election to become Salford MP.

Massey polled almost 2000 votes in the Mayor election, and told the Salford Star that he intends to stand in 2014 either as "part of another party or I'll build my own party…I think it's time for a change."

Blears, who was at the centre of the MPs expenses scandal, might well have met her match…

Paul Massey, who entered the race to become Salford Mayor at the very last minute and polled 1,995 votes, has revealed that he will stand in the 2014 General Election to become Salford MP.

This would pit the controversial businessman in a titanic fight against the controversial standing MP, Hazel Blears, who was at the centre of the expenses scandal a few years ago (see previous Salford Star story: click here and click here).

Paul Massey told the Salford Star at yesterday's Mayor election count that he couldn't wait four years to have another go for Mayor…

"I like to move fast so I'm looking to stand in two years, either as part of another party or to build my own party, and go for a fight in the national elections" he said "I'd maybe get in with another party and take the fight to them, I think it's time for a change."

When pressed on which political party it might be he replied "Some party that's liberal".

Massey came seventh in the Mayoral poll but less than 200 votes behind the Liberal Democrats.

"It wasn't about me winning today, it was about any candidate winning so that Labour wouldn't have full control" he said "But unfortunately people have missed that day and now Labour have got more power than they've ever had in history. If people in Salford are soon going to come back in anger, it's too late now. We didn't get that change, we've made them stronger."

Thanking the Salford people who did vote for him, Massey said "I like to look forward in life; it's just the same thing all the time. We need to move on and fight them…"

Paul Massey added today on his Facebook site that his supporters should give new Mayor, Ian Stewart, some time before making a judgement on him…

"Well Ian Stewart is the new Mayor of Salford" he posted "The people of Salford have voted for him and I am willing to give him some time and the benefit of the doubt before I make any comments or judgements, and I would like all my supporters to do the same. As a man of the people of Salford I have got to accept their decision with dignity and pray Ian can get Salford back on the road to recovery…"

If the General Election match between Blears and Massey actually happens it's sure to be one hell of a contest...

I really can't believe that anybody with even one brain cell could support such a candidate> If the logic is that all politicians are corrupt then let's look at other politicians. Not at somebody who is in, albeit a very small way responsible for the state of Salford today.

What a choice . An MP who does nothing for Salford's Shafted Inmates , and a Salford man who loves Salford . Well , PM does not treat the taxpayer as a personal bank account ,unlike that corrupt , fraudulent gang -of -shites at Wasteminster ......

What argument? The man had no policies, no programme. If you are going to come up with excuses to elect a thug to high office you really need to do better.

Bob . The MPs stole from the taxpayer . The majority have been allowed to evade justice and prison . This illustrates perfectly how corrupt the British 'Justice' System is . The MEPs run a similar racket , looting the taxpayer with impunity . Local councils loot the taxpayer in a similar way , wasting and squandering the bottomless extorted money-pit unchallenged . These are the people who need to be prosecuted and jailed . These people are criminals , protected by the corrupt judicial system . Paul Massey served his time . Paul Massey does not steal from the taxpayer . Paul Massey made a CONVINCING ARGUAMENT for Mayor . Shame the deluded, apathetic electorate did not listen . WE REALLY ARE IN THE SHITE WITH THIS GANG OF TOWN HALL MOBSTERS RUNNING THIS DEAD CITY .

You need to get the politics right first. To know what you plan in certain situations would be. Just to sound like ranting gains no voters following so be the wise old owl. It took until 1946 before Labour won their Worktowners votes. The politics has to be right. Beware and make a good plan.

Hey Irwell Running Through ME!! Ive not seen Paul M for a while. But i will say in his favour that he was not the Guy that kept pinching my backside in Broughton Bays nor did he get his tool out and start rummaging around in his swimwear/shorts. But the People you refer to KNOW NO LIMIT and would no doubt RUMMAGE anywhere to get what THEY want and most of the would shove their noses here and there too. Meanwhile i will keep my Swimwear safely tied at the waist.... yours Alex C

TO Alex C - the gangster is the one who won't rob you when you have nothing left to rob. The gangster is the one who will not smile in your face while lifting your wallet. The gangster is the one who will not wear a suit while he robs you with a fountain pen. The rest....that would be the MP's and politicians. Hope that clears it up for ya :)

Commandant Felse, trying to get in on the act. Let me just say to Paul Massey that this cretin Felse will do anything to get himself and is crappy little, one trick pony, nasty bunch into any kind of office available. I guarantee he will be in touch, trying to get you involved in his nasty little party of right wing tossers. Remember Paul, even in Salford, we are all creeds and colours. Some of the finest businessmen, hardest workers, and most loyal citizens of Salford arrived in this country floating on the back of a door. Lets all say a big FCUK OFF to Felse and his cronies. Finally.

I thank Paul for an interesting and honest campaign in the Mayor election. Like many I had doubts about why he was taking part, let me say he proved to be a true caring citizen of Salford and I salute him in whatever he decides to be his future. 'Massey' supporters were second to none and I am sure he did much good in educating all we other contenders. I join him in the call for our new Mayor Ian Stewart to engage with all people to prove Salford can be saved from the jaws of debt, poverty, poor housing, conflict, to turn any council faults into success. We deserve nothing less than the best for Salford.

Unfortunately , Mr Greedy and his Crazy Gang are incapable of getting Salford back on the road to recovery . It would not suit their political masters .They are Nu-Liebour , right-wing , vicious , anti-working class, thatcherite torybastard lapdogs . They'll be far too busy brown-nosing to Peel to even think about the shafted , shit-on,ripped-off , exploited Salford People . However , Mr Massey challenging blears'the peepils champeen', can only be good for Salford . Mr Massey is more well respected than spicer .
