SUPER SALFORD SATURDAY AT CHIMNEY POT PARK

Star date: 8th August 2011

SUPER SALFORD SATURDAY
Saturday 13th August
Chimney Pot Park 12-5pm
Langworthy Cornerstone 12-3pm

Too huge for one site, Super Salford Saturday returns this year split over two venues – outdoors at Chimney Pot Park and indoors at the Langworthy Cornerstone.

Starring loads of bands, stalls, eating tasters and kids entertainment Super Salford Saturday is going to be the best one yet.

For full details click here…

The line up on stage at Chimney Pot Park for this year's Super Salford Saturday looks well tasty, as Salford Music Festival guru, Ed Blaney, comperes some top rap, reggae and rock from Girl Peculiar, Briggzy, Ruby Anne Patterson, A Me B and Jeremiah Ferrari, with the Silky DJs (Costa del Salford Disco) and DJ Mezza doing the vibes.

The focus is on family entertainment and at the Park there's lots of stalls, a bouncy castle, a climbing wall, Miroslav the portrait maestro plus face painting.

Over at the Cornerstone, singer songwriters Albert Thompson and Mark Daynes are playing live, and there's tasters of activities going off at the centre, and proper food tasting too.

"Super Salford Saturday – does what it says on the tin!" says Linda Robson of Seedley and Langworthy Events Group "Celebrating all that's brilliant about Salford – great parks, top musicians and a fantastic sense of community. Bringing young, old and everyone in-between together for a fabulous afternoon of music, stalls and activities."

Salford currently has three councillors per ward but, with new wards possibly emerging as the city grows, this might be cut to two per ward.

AS £5.5MILLION AVOIDED BY DEVELOPERS SALFORD MAYOR SAYS IT'S A 'MYTH'!

In the latest issue of Salford Council's propaganda mag, Life in Salford, Salford City Mayor, Paul Dennett, has denounced the "myth" that "developers don't contribute money to the city. It's simply not true" he says.

Yes, they do contribute some money but they also avoid millions of pounds in payments and provision of affordable housing. Indeed, Salford Star analysis shows that developers avoided almost £5.5million in payments last year, as the Mayor only tells half the truth.
