After the critical success of his debut album, Tales From A Northern City, John Herring is about to go back into the studio to record his second CD. But before he disappears John's playing a final Salford gig at the Sacred Trinity Church on Chapel Street, and is giving fans a chance to feature on the new album.
"We'll be recording the whole event and there will be an opportunity for the audience to feature on the new album by singing along to a couple of the new tracks or maybe doing some artwork and scribbles too" he explains "If it comes off we're planning to give credits to everyone who comes along on the night. Ultimately, it's about collaboration and without people coming to listen to my music, I may as well be playing in my bedroom. So, getting people involved is an important thing no matter what."
John will be playing with his full band and will be supported at the Sacred Trinity Church by Quiet Rebellion and Love Locked Out.
"It's a real pleasure to play Sacred Trinity" adds "It's in my hometown for one, has had some amazing acts pass through here over the years and is a beautiful space to play or be an audience member in."
And, for this gig only, the audience will feature as backing singers on the new album…
