Salford has 14 new coronavirus cases, down from the previous day's 27, bringing the cumulative total of cases to 23,293. The seven day average of cases in Salford is now 96, up from 94, while the seven day rate per 100,000 population now stands at 37.1, up from 36.3.
Elsewhere in Greater Manchester, the seven day average of cases in Bury is 43 (down from 49), with a seven day rate per 100,000 population of 22.5 (down from 25.7); Bolton 136 (same), with a rate of 47.3 (same); Manchester 216 (down from 238), with a rate of 39.1 (down from 43); and Oldham 91 (down from 93), with a rate of 38.4 (down from 39.2).
Rochdale has a seven day average of cases of 66 (down from 73), with a seven day rate of 29.7 (down from 32.8); Stockport 76 (same), with a rate of 25.9 (same); Tameside 69 (up from 62), with a rate of 30.5 (up from 27.4); Trafford 94 (up from 87), with a rate of 39.6 (up from 36.7); and Wigan 69 (down from 76), with a rate of 21 (down from 23.1).
There has been one new virus-related death announced by Salford Royal Hospital.

Meanwhile, the NHS has issued a new comedy video encouraging people to take up the vaccination, with hilarious contributions from Lydia West, Liz Hurley, David Walliams, Lenny Henry and Navin Chowdhry auditioning for a vaccination video, with a cameo by Elton John, who failed the audition in the last video.
“It’s a frightening time for everyone right now, with people scared about getting COVID, worrying about the future and fearing for their loved ones" says Lydia, star of It's A Sin "So, it’s understandable that people might be worried about vaccines too. But I hope that through this campaign, we can show people that getting vaccinated is not something to be scared of.”
