The fight to Save Swinton Park Golf and Country Club continues with a new petition to 'Save Our Green Land In The Heart of Salford', signed by over one thousand people within a week.
The Club closed in September last year after bitter disputes between the owners who wanted to sell the land to developers for housing and campaigners who wanted to save it.*
The new petition reads...
"A petition of over 3,200 friends signed to stop development on 100 acres of green recreational land of a 1000 houses in June 2019. Since then it has been proved that Swinton Park Golf and Country Club 2017 (the owners) was a viable business.
"It was closed in September 2020 but we need everyone reading this to sign the petition to keep the land from any future development and to reopen the club to protect the existing green space in the heart of Salford for the future of the generations now and those to follow.
"With this terrible pandemic we need all open space for the well being of everyone, plus the ecological and environmental catastrophic damage any change would cause. Please sign and support the reopening of this precious land. Thank you."
