Salford has 77 new coronavirus cases, down from the previous day's 96, bringing the cumulative total to 20,169. The seven day average of cases in Salford has increased to 728, up from 727, while the seven day rate per 100,000 population now stands at 281.3, up from 280.9.
Elsewhere in Greater Manchester, the seven day average of cases in Bury is 438 (down from 469), with a seven day rate per 100,000 population of 229.3 (down from 245.6); Bolton 785 (up from 770), with a rate of 273 (up from 267.8); Manchester 1,613 (down from 1,645), with a rate of 291.8 (down from 297.5); and Oldham 559 (down from 572), with a rate of 235.8 (down from 241.2).
Rochdale has a seven day average of cases of 565 (up from 546), with a seven day rate of 254 (up from 245.5); Stockport 714 (down from 744), with a rate of 243.3 (down from 253.6); Tameside 601 (down from 637), with a rate of 265.4 (down from 281.2); Trafford 513 (down from 527), with a rate of 216.1 (down from 222); and Wigan 849 (down from 865), with a rate of 258.3 (down from 263.2).
There have been four new virus-related deaths at Salford Royal Hospital.
Meanwhile, five thousand tests have been carried out at the rapid no-symptoms testing sites at Eccles Old Town Hall, Beesley Green Community Centre, Wardley Community Centre and Buile Hill Park Banqueting Suite, and 66 people have tested positive. Salford's first pop up vaccine sites are expected to open this weekend at Newbury Green Health Centre, Broughton, and, next week, at Little Hulton Health Centre, with more to follow. So far, Salford has administered almost 44,000 doses of vaccine - 27,307 via the three community hubs, and 16,605 via Salford Royal Hospital (9,622 to NHS staff, 1,139 to patients and 5,844 to other staff).
