Salford has 174 new confirmed cases of coronavirus bringing the cumulative total to 11,593. The seven day average of cases has decreased from 1,377, to 1,256, as has the seven day rate per 100,000 population which fell from 532 to 485.3.
Elsewhere in Greater Manchester, all boroughs saw a drop in seven day totals. Cases in Manchester during the latest seven day data period were 2,264 (down from 2,395), with a rate of 409.5 (down from 433.2), followed by Bolton with 1,381 (down from 1,465), with a rate of 480.3 (down from 509.5) and Oldham 1,612 (down from 1,758), with a rate of 679.9 (down from 741.4).
Wigan has 1,750 (down from 1,898), with a rate of 532.5 (down from 577.5), Tameside 941 (down from 1,031), with a rate of 415.5 (down from 455.2), Rochdale 1,278 (down from 1,351), with a rate of 574.6 (down from 607.4), Stockport 989 (down from 1,065), with a rate of 337.1 (down from 363), Bury 1,058 (down from 1,097), with a rate of 554 (down from 574.4), and Trafford 931 (down from 961), with a rate of 392.2 (down from 404.9).
There have been six new virus-related deaths announced by Salford Royal Hospital, bringing the sad total for the week to 27.
