SALFORD HAS 207 NEW CORONAVIRUS CASES AS SALFORD ROYAL HOSPITAL ADMISSIONS MORE THAN DOUBLE

SALFORD ROYAL HOSPITAL VIRUS ADMISSIONS INCREASE 191%

Salford has 207 new confirmed coronavirus cases, bringing the cumulative total to 7,284, with 1,428 new cases in the last seven days of data, and a rate per 100,000 people of 551.7. Only four areas of Salford now have a case rate below 400 per 100,000 people.

There have been no new virus-related deaths at Salford Royal Hospital but COVID-19 admissions have risen from 24 in the first nine days of the month, to 70 in the following nine days to 18th October, an increase of 191%.

Salford has 207 new confirmed coronavirus cases, bringing the cumulative total to 7,284, up from the previous day's 7,077. Salford has had 1,428 cases in the last seven days of data, with a case rate per 100,000 of 551.7, up from the previous day's 518.1.

The latest Government data map for Middle Super Output Areas shows only four areas of the city with a case rate per 100,000 people of less than 400. These are Pendleton (305.6), Winton and Westwood (302.5), Swinton Newtown (278.9) and Kersal Dale (347.9).

High case areas include Langworthy Buile Hill (620.8), Eccles (723.8), Worsley (898.7), Ellenbrook and Boothstown (588.2), Lower Irlam and Cadishead (661.3) and Broughton Park (629.4).

Elsewhere in Greater Manchester, cases in Manchester during the latest seven day data period were 2,665 (up from 2,544), with a rate of 482 (up from 460.2), Other boroughs stats are Bolton 1,452 (up from 1,366), with a rate of 505 (up from 475), Oldham 1,325 (up from 1,199), with a rate of 558.8 (up from 505.7), Wigan 1,747 (up from 1,624), with a rate of 531.5 (up from 494.1), Tameside 972 (up from 891), with a rate of 429.2 (up from 393.4), Rochdale 1,245 (up from 1,189), with a rate of 559.8 (up from 534.6), Stockport 1,003 (up from 924), with a rate of 341.8 (up from 314.9), Bury 921 (up from 841), with a rate of 482.2 (up from 440.3), and Trafford 887 (up from 835), with a rate of 373.7 (up from 351.8).

Meanwhile, there have been no new virus-related deaths at Salford Royal Hospital; but latest Government data for admissions to the hospital and diagnoses in the hospital show an increase of 191.6%. For the first nine days of the month there were 24 such admissions at Salford Royal, and between 10th and 18th October there were 70 such admissions.

Regardless of the stats some one is losing a loved one to this cruel indiscriminate virus stats mean nowt when you have lost a mother a father or a sibling friend or neighbour.it seems that Boris the Poundland Churchill is refusing to back down and feed the poorest children of the country tough guy Boris cant be seen to be weak it may upset the sadistic swine that prop him up so the kids must starve this of course is something this privileged kid has never endured along with the majority of his well fed party who gorge on cheap food in the commons restaurants and claim every thing they can on expenses like the rt hon Brandon Lewis mp and barrister well what else who claimed 67 thousand pound in hotel bills in the last few years but now thinks its right that children should starve this is the party that made claiming money/benefits child allowance forbidden for having a third child so it should not come has a surprise this party of the ruling class are still stuck in the 19th century they have the same callous outlook on life that mill owners and colliery owners had money and profit overall and life is cheap. It shows how corrupt this system is and how the Tories feather each others nests Baroness Harding the head of track and trace who outsourced money taxpayers money 12 billion pounds to private companies to deliver a system which was a total fiasco first of all the baroness contracted accountancy firm Delotte who then hired Serco and were joined with out any scrutiny by Sodexo Mitie g4s ANY VESTED INTERESTS HERE and then given to boots to manage when obviously the contract should have gone in the first place to the NHS the one body with the medical expertise to administer such a program who could have done the job through GP surgeries and hospitals however Brandon Lewis thinks the baroness has done a fine job and should now be given a rest and a well deserved break.Next we have the sunak show on November the 1st the chancellor will reinstate vat on PPE or a mask tax at a time when masks and all sanitsers and other items that help to protect the public and the health of the nation should be free this money grubbing idiot wants to Penalise people many on low income for doing the right thing you could not make it up no wonder some people are not taking this pandemic seriously.Now on the Salford Precint front will some one who is responsible open the public toilets and stop the charge for using them so people can use them to wash and clean themselves.

In reply to Alison’s post, the 19k population is for Higher Irlam and Lower Irlam/Cadishead. For an easy life let’s say they both have a population around 10k. If there have been 42 cases in Higher Irlam and you want to express this in a rate per 100k you multiply 42 by 10= 420. If you want to work out the rate per 100k for the whole of Salford the calculation is roughly total number of cases divided by 2.5. By the way the increase in admissions from 24 to 70 is 291%, not really a very meaningful figure probably clearer to say trebled.

I have seen your reply but I still do not get it. How can the take figures for a small area based on the whole population of Salford. I live in Higher Irlam I am not sure what they are classing as population but it works out as about 9k But on google it shows 19k.

See Alison's comment below...What it means is that if your area had 100,000 people in it there would be 422 cases. They take the total number of cases (usually over the last seven days)and divide it by the population in your area, divided by 100,000. So for Salford as a whole it's case numbers divided by 250,000/100,000. Think that's right!!

I am not convinced with the rolling data figure. Where I live it shows we have 42 cases but rolling rate of 422per 100000 how can this be correct when the whole population of Salford is about 250k. Can someone explain how they work this out.

Salford has 7 new coronavirus cases, down from the previous day's 14, while the seven day rate per 100,000 population now stands at 30.1, down from 30.9. There have been no new virus-related deaths announced by Salford Royal Hospital.
