HOUSING COMPANY WITHDRAWS FROM SWINTON PARK GOLF CLUB PURCHASE

Star date: 2nd October 2020 YOUR HOUSING PULLS OUT OF SWINTON PARK GOLF CLUB BUYOUT Following an independent viability assessment report concluding that Swinton Park Golf Club is a viable concern, Your Housing Group, which had an option to buy the course for a reported £10million, has withdrawn from the potential purchase. Last week, an independent viability assessment report concluded that Swinton Park Golf Club was a going concern, which would make it extremely difficult for any developer to build houses on the green space. Current directors of the Club had planned to sell it, originally to Bellway Homes for a reported £30million, and later to Your Housing Group (YHG) for a reported £10million. Following a campaign by Save Swinton Park Golf Club, made up of club members and the local community, Salford City Council agreed to commission an independent report into the Club's viability, with input from all interested parties, which concluded that the Club was viable.* Now ,Your Housing Group has pulled out of any involvement. A letter from the company's Brian Cronin states that, given the conclusions of the report, "YHG have now informed both the vendors of the course and the Salford Council that we are formally withdrawing from the purchase and surrendering our option to purchase, YHG now has no interest in the course. I do hope that this fully reflects the agreement we reached in February in honouring our commitment." The Save Swinton Park Golf Club campaign has written to Salford Council thanking it for the help given, and has confirmed that one of the directors of of the Club has been in contact offering to negotiate on the Club's future...

Just shon a few trusted comrids, so thi int'th know.Well if he has ,you can invalidate a will by making a new one 10 minutes later, and not tell anyone.There are a number of ways Arthur can do that transfer now, and still live there till he dies.That way cynics like me will have been convinced of his bona -fides. I will get such a document droughted up, and Arthur can irrevocably designate that flat to whatever NUM cause he likes, and I will pay the land registry legal fees. | Bob, Comrade Yeltsin did it in Russia, after the fall of the Soviet Union as well. The reason was that the state could no longer afford the cost of housing repairs. It was a financial decision, not an altruistic one. Salford City Council, an entity overflowing with die hard deluded Marxists, and also Socialists of the plastic variety did something similar when it allowed Salix Homes and the then City West to take possession of its stock. |

In 1985 Castro flogged off all the council houses to cubans no matter if they liked the idea or not, despite having a housing shortage. Today,90% of cuban citizens live in their own houses on their own land. Can Paul not see for himself ,the thousands of council houses, built by the council well after the war that have been pulled down?Far more social housing has been destroyed by the council and their former friends the housing associations than was destroyed by Hitlers air force and Mrs thatchers right to buy.I would hazard a guess based on national figures and say about 2000 council houses at most have been bought by former tenants, most who still live in them,like me, and their kids and grankids will after them. I can name now 2000 empty plots where the council has knocked houses down and the site is empty. (950 about down kersal alone)You can soon tell which houses have been bought on a council estate. You do not have to go to the land registry to look at the deeds.Paul often goes on about council houses that end up in private landlords hands. I agree this does happen ,and for 2 reasons. One greedy bastard councils take peoples housing and sell it to pay for old peoples medical care in old folks homes. Thus depriving the young of a house to inherit.The second reason is also greed. when the old folks kick it, the family all want a share out so they can get a new car,piss it up the wall etc. Then, the house gets flogged to the local private landlord. The rent these people charge is higher than council rent, it is normally LHA rate, but most time the new tenant don't care as this gets picked up by the council housing benefit.The new tenant is normally a houseproud respectable single mum from a family with strong connections in the area, so in effect, the local population are being given priority.Landlords like the regular hassle free money coming in. There is no shortage of respectable tenants who know the score.Paul goes on about how happy people were on them council estates. Kersal flats used to be great. Just think,if the council had sold them to the people who lived there for a quid each. The council would have had £950 instead of finding millions to knock them down, and 950 families would have a cheap roof over their head. Sorry Paul , the people must all live in their own houses.The only council estate where people would freely choose to live on is where Pauls best mate Scargill lives.The Barbican in London. Sadly ,these greedy right to buy shitbags have mostly bought their council houses under Thatchers right to buY. Greedy cunts like Arthur Scargill who bought his flat for £1 million that is now worth £4 million. They could have chosen not to have a large family and the house would have been big enough. It isn't the government's responsibility to pay for your life decisions.
I have one kid, I wouldn't have more at the moment as I'd have to cram them in the same room or move house and I'd struggle to afford one with more rooms.
I understand this and am not going to put myself in housing difficulty then expect to be bailed out by the government. |

| Let me clarify BOB its not about workers or anybody else owning a house houses are for living in and a house is a human right for all human beings need shelter and a secure place to bring up a family etc without fear of eviction i believe in the collective owning of houses many empty properties are lying empty all over the UK and we have many people and families in desperate need of housing we have a growing homelessness problem with many deaths on the streets.the housing problem in the UK is because of thatchers nonsense about a so called home owning democracy which has led to a massive personal debt being incurred by many/ it was a con/ and a lower standard of living unlike countries where people rent like for example the scandanavian counries and many parts of Europe home ownership has not made people richer in the UK its led to insecurity and worry and fear over fluctuations in house prices loss /profit and the reason for the crash in 2010 remember also negative equity housing with some exceptions that being property developers and landlords make a lot of money through a rigged market where people have no other choice but to put themselves in debt and take out a huge loan/mortgage.i grew up on a council estate in Salford in the 1960s and it was a good place to live good community spirit and good services caretakers on the estate gardners it was well kept and clean and people got on pretty well during a time of full employment then came thatcher and the tory policy of the market economy and private greed the closing down of industry and the brutal assault on public services which is clear for all to see a disater which led to mass unemployment a loss of hope and faith the former stable society was to be crushed and the planned running down and destruction of the secure tenancy housing stock began this has been at great detriment to the majority of the people in this country very stupid and short sited political decisions with out concern for the future short term gain thatcher and her mob indulging in class war and splitting and pitting people against each other divide and rule them and us.BOB i do not condemn any body who buys or owns a house in the present circumstances they have no choice and a big reason is because of tory/labour right to buy policy i have always thought it wrong in principle to buy my council house which i could have done very cheaply because i believed it was not my right to sell or buy. In 1945 millions of council estates were built to house people and families to replace the slums of the Victorian age and after the Blits to replace lost housing i had relatives who fought the racist state of Nazi Germany they wanted a better world and better housing and a welfare state they gave it in blood if we could build council housing then we can do it now and end the tyranny of the rigged housing market build housing which is owned by all of us its called council housing and they are not dirty words and Socialise all empty properties for people to use i know many people who are homeless who could and should be housed and with winter coming some will probably freeze to death on the streets and that is a disgrace that should shame us all. |

| There is STILL "salt of the earth" Salford citizens waiting, waiting and waiting and probably won't get a bigger council house for many years living in a 2bed house with a large family and looking on Salford home search every Wednesday morning when the new housing list comes out and pestering the council for years and going to the Salford housing office every week inquiring about 3bed housing for his family and repeatedly getting fobbed off by the housing people and basically hitting a brick wall in there hunt for a bigger house. There is also thousands of Salford people living in private landlords properties paying rent of £800 a month for 3bed houses and some families get help of the council to pay the landlords, most of these families want a social council house as well and are not classed as urgent (being first in the queue) because they have a house for the time being. There is lots of brownfield sites all around Salford that has been left empty for many many years, why not build on them council social housing for Salford people and get these people a nice family home. If all it was that easy. we all know Mr dennett and 95% of Salford council doesn't talk to the Salford star, but I bet he and the council reads it. I'm off to get a chill pill. |

| Let’s see what happens next we will probably see your housing Group gifted some land for pulling out of the sale of the golf club they’ll be some deal behind the scenes gone on with Paul Dennett and your housing group .
Would of also been interesting to see what the actual plans where going be if they would of purchased Swinton park golf club I.E :part of the golf course might have been saved , the clubhouse might have been kept etc the people against the sale might have been pleasantly surprised and backed it But like always people jump to conclusions and And start chatting shite spreading rumours . Also the builder the one everyone is calling he’s done so much for this city building houses over the years for half of you lot sat comfortably in your home with your bottle of wine and takeaway starring at the tv waiting for your lotto numbers to come in whilst this builder went out and achieved massive things whilst most just dream of a better life |

It is the council and the government that has made them poor.We all know that the council and its leader have different ideas about things than Salford people. We need social (council)houses being built because in Salford there is thousands of Salford LOCAL people on the Salford housing waiting list waiting years for a decent place to live. I know quite a few Salford Born bred families in Salford living in 2bed houses with 2parents and 3kids waiting and waiting for a 3bed council house for many years..
