CLIFTON HAS MOST VIRUS CASES IN SALFORD

Salford has 31 new confirmed cases of coronavirus, bringing the cumulative total to 2,072. There has been one new virus-related death at Salford Royal Hospital.

The rate of virus positivity tests per 100,000 population in Salford has now hit 83.7, with almost every area of the city affected. In the week ending 6th September, Clifton had the most cases in the city, followed by Ordsall and Salford Quays, and Higher Broughton.

Salford has 31 new confirmed cases of coronavirus, bringing the cumulative total to 2,072, up from the previous day's 2,041.

Elsewhere in Greater Manchester, cases in Manchester rose to 4,784 (up from 4,726), followed by Oldham with 3,155 (up from 3,105), Bolton 2,936 (up from 2,841), Rochdale 2,463 (up from 2,429), Wigan 2,461 (up from 2,442), Tameside 2,164 (up from 2,126), Stockport 2,097 (up from 2,082), Trafford 1,809 (up from 1,790) and Bury 1,747 (up from 1,728).

There has been one new virus-related death at Salford Royal Hospital. On the latest day of data, 7th September, 31 patients were admitted to hospitals in the North West, compared to 14 the week before on 31st August.

Salford now has a rate of virus positivity tests per 100,000 population of 83.7 (as of 7th September data), and, according to the Government's latest map of the virus by Middle Super Output Areas during the week 31st August to 6th September, almost every area in Salford had positive COVID-19 cases. Clifton had the most cases, followed by Ordsall and Salford Quays, and Higher Broughton.
