Salford has 15 new confirmed cases of coronavirus, bringing the cumulative total up to 1,693, up from the previous day's 1,678.
Elsewhere in Greater Manchester, Manchester now has a total of 3,927 (up from 3,885), followed by Oldham with 2,707 (up from 2,675), Wigan 2,264 (up from 2,257), Bolton 2,192 (up from 2,185), Rochdale 2,129 (up from 2,103), Stockport 1,933 (up from 1,926), Tameside 1,809 (up from 1,804), Trafford 1,581 (up from 1,574), and Bury 1,496 (up from 1,489).
There have been no new virus-related deaths at Salford Royal Hospital.
Meanwhile, across the whole of the North West, latest data for 19th August shows four people admitted to hospitals, with a total of 102 in hospitals and 19 patients on ventilators. While relatively low, these figures are still greater than most regions in the country.
The East of England had two patients admitted to hospitals, with a total of 44 and 6 on ventilation; London had three patients admitted to hospitals, with a total of 80 and 15 on ventilation; the North East had one patient admitted to hospitals, with a total of 81 and 8 on ventilation; the South East had two patients admitted to hospitals, with a total of 52 and 8 on ventilation; and the South West had three patients admitted to hospitals, with a total of 17 and one on ventilation. The only comparable region is the Midlands, which had six patients admitted to hospitals, with a total of 140 and 7 on ventilation.
