Salford has 188 new coronavirus cases, down from the previous day's 277, bringing the cumulative total to 16,779. The seven day average of cases has increased to 1,044, up from 940, while the seven day rate per 100,000 population now stands at 403.3, up from 363.2.
Elsewhere in Greater Manchester, the seven day average of cases in Bury is 816 (up from 775), with a seven day rate per 100,000 population of 427.2 (up from 405.8); Bolton 988 (up from 880), with a rate of 343.6 (up from 306); Manchester 2,340 (up from 2,142), with a rate of 423.3 (up from 387.4); and Oldham 880 (up from 795), with a rate of 371.1 (up from 335.3).
Rochdale has a seven day average of cases of 891 (up from 800), with a seven day rate of 400.6 (up from 359.7); Stockport 1,245 (up from 1,169), with a rate of 424.3 (up from 398.4); Tameside 823 (up from 747), with a rate of 363.4 (up from 329.8); Trafford 1,115 (up from 1,009), with a rate of 469.8 (up from 425.1); and Wigan 1,578 (up from 1,399), with a rate of 480.1 (up from 425.7).
There have been two new virus-related deaths at Salford Royal Hospital.
Meanwhile, the Northern Care Alliance (NCA), which includes Salford Royal NHS Trust and the Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, is looking to recruit healthcare professionals - on fixed term six month contracts of £24,907 to £30,112 pro rata - to administer the COVID-19 vaccine to NHS staff and patients, and to provide supervision to teams of vaccinators...
"The successful applicants must be able to work well under pressure, have a flexible approach and be passionate about people, progress and delivering safe and personal care" states the NCA "...We would actively encourage applications from experienced vaccinators and those who can administer vaccines under PGD."
