Home-Start Trafford and Salford is a voluntary organisation and part of a national charity that trains parent volunteers from the community to offer emotional and practical support to families with young children who live in Trafford and Salford.
"Our volunteers, who know about being a parent, support other parents by visiting them in their own homes for a couple of hours each week" states Home-Start "To become a Home-Start volunteer you must be a parent or have had substantial parenting experience."
As well as having experience of parenting, volunteers are also required to take part in a training course, and the next one is at the Eccles Gateway, covering all sorts of issues, from safeguarding to 'understanding parenting differences' and 'multi-agency working'.
It's for people who enjoy working with children and love a challenge.
