SALFORD PRECINCT GOLDEN EASTER EGG HUNT AND FOODBANK DONATION CENTRE

EASTER BUNNY GOLDEN EGG HUNT AT SALFORD PRECINCT

Over Easter, each day there's going to be a Golden Easter Egg Hunt at Salford Shopping Centre with £20 vouchers for those who find the Easter Bunny's Golden Egg. Meanwhile, the Precinct is also going to be collecting donations of Easter Eggs, canned food and other essentials for the Salford Foodbank.

Every day, up until Monday 17th April, the Easter Bunny will be hiding a Golden Egg somewhere in Salford Shopping Centre, anyone can take part and whoever finds it and follows the instructions can claim a prize of a £20 gift voucher.

The Precinct is also going to be a collection centre for the Salford Foodbank and is asking for donations of Easter Eggs, which will go to children who may not otherwise receive one, and donations of canned food, toiletries, feminine hygiene products and other essentials. The donation point is the Management Suite, 1A Hankinson Way (Friday and Monday only).

Sounds of Salford Radio's Simon Williams has penned a new collection of poems about Salford people and for Salford people, with subjects ranging from Salford Reds at The Willows, to social cleansing in Langworthy, to a rhyming trip around the city's music history. There's only one hundred copies of the pamphlet, it's £2.50 and all proceed go to St Ann's Hospice.

STREET ANGELS, DRUGS AND RIPPED WINGS FEELS LIKE HEAVEN

Swearing, drug taking, warring, robbing, homeless angels? It certainly feels like heaven - not - in a slick, new production by R.Kid, where the halos have unravelled big time, and the dark side rears its horns. Angels With Dirty Accents runs at Salford Arts Theatre until 23rd and then from 27th to 30th September.

SALFORD COUNCIL PROUD OF EDUCATING GREATER MANCHESTER HARROP FOLD SCHOOL PUPILS

COUNCILLORS PROUD OF HOW HARROP FOLD TV PUPILS REPRESENTING CITY – AS £1.7MILLION FUNDRAISING DRIVE LAUNCHED TO WIPE OUT HUGE SCHOOL DEFICIT

At yesterday's full meeting of Salford Council, councillors praised staff and pupils at Harrop Fold school for how they have represented the city..."I really think they've done the community proud and this city proud" said Walkden South Councillor, Richard Critchley, and the sentiments were underlined by Children's Lead Member Lisa Stone.

Meanwhile the school has launched a £1.7million fundraising drive to wipe out its deficit, which at one point was the highest in the country at a forecast £6.7million.
