This afternoon, Salford and Manchester Street Support supplied a full Easter Dinner, followed by the gift of an Easter Egg, to the city's homeless.
All the food and over one hundred Easter Eggs were donated by local people, and served up by eight volunteers at the Beacon Centre in Charlestown which also gave the space free...
"We provided starters, hot and cold drinks, a full Easter Dinner with all the trimmings and choice of apple pie and custard or Swiss roll and cream for afters" said Angela Barratt of Street Support "Everything was donated by people in Salford, and anything left over will be containered up and given out to the homeless.
"We also got given over one hundred Easter Eggs, some of which we already handed out to the homeless on the streets of Manchester, some have been given out at today's dinner, and what's left will go to the children of Salford. I'd like to thank everyone who has donated and cared for others in the city...Salford people are the best people..."
