The Frank Mullineux Salford Local History Award is now open for entries until 30th June, honouring those making a significant contribution to local history.
Now named in honour of Frank Mullineux, who was a founder member of The Eccles and District History Society, the Award has been in existence for over forty years, and is now administered by the Salford Local History Forum, and supported by the Salford Red Devils Foundation.
Entry is open to anyone aged over 18 who has produced work which is considered to have contributed most to the study of the local history of Salford.
"The work should be original but its form is not specified: examples of work which would be considered are a paper, a book, arrangement of an exhibition, involvement in the restoration of an item of historical importance, discovery and interpretation of a manuscript, a photographic survey or other media" state the organisers.
A panel which will include a member of The Eccles and District History Society will decide on the winner, or winners, who will receive a certificate and prize.
