Local radio station, The Sounds of Salford, is hosting a special music evening at Broughton Rugby Club on Saturday 21st January as a fundraiser for three top causes - St Ann's Hospice, Folly Lane Juniors and Broughton RUFC...
Starring at the gig will be The Things, Benefit State, Ryan from Cinnamon Dinner doing a solo spot and Beth Mcroy, one of the brightest singers in Salford, plus DJ Archer spinning the tunes. The gig starts at 7:30pm and entrance is by donation on the door. And before that, during the day, there's also going to be lots of events, including a rugby tournament from Folly Lane under 9s teams and an open age game.
"We got involved with Broughton Rugby Club as they needed a kit sponsor, met the lads and decided to put a gig on for them" explains Simon Williams, from The Sounds of Salford "Folly Lane rugby juniors also need money for kits, so we decided to have a fun day where there will be a couple of games before the main event at night.
"We also will be helping St Ann's Hospice, as they help so many in Salford, and the Government don't help them" he adds "In the last 18 months, The Sounds of Salford has raised over £28,000 for local charities, so we go again for 2017 - The Sounds of Salford doing what the Council should be doing and helping the people of Salford..."
