SALFORD MPS REACT TO ASSASSINATION OF MP JO COX

Star date: 17th June 2016 LONG BAILEY, STRINGER AND KEELEY PAY TRIBUTE TO JO COX Last night, Salford's three MPs reacted to the assassination of Yorkshire MP, Jo Cox, by suspect and neo-Nazi sympathiser Thomas Mair. Salford and Eccles MP Rebecca Long Bailey tweeted that she was `deeply saddened'; Worsley and Eccles South MP, Barbara Keeley, called the murder `shocking'; while Blackley and Broughton MP Graham Stringer added that it was `tragedy for democracy'. Last night, Salford's three MPs paid tribute to Yorkshire MP, Jo Cox, who was brutally assassinated in broad daylight by suspect and neo-Nazi sympathiser Thomas Mair. While West Yorkshire Police are still trying to "establish the motive for this murder", The Guardian has this morning reported that Mair "bought books from a US-based neo-Nazi group, including guides on how to build homemade guns and explosives..." MP Jo Cox was known for her humanitarian work, including supporting the rights of refugees fleeing from war zones such as Syria. That the tragic murder took place in the midst of poisonous anti-immigrant rhetoric from the likes of Boris Johnson and Nigel Farage was not missed on hundreds of messages on social media, particularly as the suspect was heard shouting `Britain First' as he carried out the brutal attack... Sarah M tweeted... `And fuck off telling there's nothing political about the murder of a Left Wing politician by a right wing fanatic outside her own surgery...' Blackley and Broughton MP, Graham Stringer, said the assassination was "an awful tragedy for Jo and her family. But it is also a tragedy for democracy", while in the States Hillary Clinton added that it was "a violent act of political intolerance"... Other Salford MPs concentrated on Jo Cox, the person and MP who they knew... Worsley and Eccles South MP, Barbara Keeley, tweeted: "So very sad to hear the shocking news of the loss of Jo Cox. She was a fine MP & a lovely person. Sincere sympathy to her husband & family..." Salford and Eccles MP, Rebecca Long Bailey, tweeted "Deeply saddened by the tragic death of Jo. Struggling to find words at the moment. She was a lovely girl..."

| I see the person who killed 49 gay people in Orlando and who happens to be a Muslim, has pledged his support for Isis and said he killed these people in the name of Islam. So dos this mean we treat all Muslims as terrorist suspects, the US government have tried to cover this up, but now it's coming out. So salford star, are all Muslims potential terrorists, as your trying to link the killing of jo cox to brexit and ukip. Look forward to your reply. | Sad day for democracy, shame on the star. 2 world wars thought for freedom of speech. Some people on this site might not like what the person Cameron says, but people died fighting for his right to say it. I happen to agree with a lot of what he says, just because it is unpalatable to some, it's wrong for the star to ban and censor him. Debate him or is what he is saying the truth and is it why you want to ban him. He's right on polititions using this death in the eu campaign, David Cameron is already using her death in the eu vote. Sorry this murder is just being used by polititions in the remain camp and the lefties who want to see the the destruction of this country. This murder at any other time wouldn't have had the same coverage, the remain camp are going to play this murder for all it's worth, if the remain camp win on Thursday, this murder will be forgotten by Friday and all the polititions with crocodile tears today will be laughting on Friday. To the remainers, this murder is a god send, every main stream media is trying to link it to the brexit camp. sad but a fact. In a way what this man has done, is linked to the euro vote, if the Labour Party hadn't have opened our boarders to mass immigration putting massive pressure on the health service, then this man would have got the mental health help he clearly needed. a plague on the house of the Labour Party for turning the national health service in to the international health service, where British born citizens are pushed to the back of the queue. Sad it took the murder of this innocent women for this man to get the help he quite clearly need, sad a labour MP died because of a labour policy of open door boarders. | It is appalling Jo Cox has been killed campaigning in her constituency. The attack struck at the heart of her right to personal safety. Her loss will be deeply felt by many who knew her dedicated unselfishness. I send sincerest condolences to her family and urge us all to donate to the Jo Cox fund in sharing hope for the future she strove to achieve for many in need. |

| Once we have got over the shock of such a waste of a person, a mother, wife and daughter, we should start to think what happened to this man who misguidedly thought he was doing what was right. There is a message for all parents, all teachers and those with children in their care. Consideration, tolerance and humanity doesn't just happen. Children need to learn about these attitudes by example, by discussion and by being brought up in a democratic environment. Stop the shouting, stop the smacking and introduce explanation and reason. Our leaders too need to demonstrate more tolerance and stop the bickering and snidy behaviour. If we educate to a higher level of understanding in our communities we may rid society of some of these misguided individuals. This is a deeply sad loss and we must learn from it. |

| Sorry it's not been proven or disproven that this man has far right affiliations. A witness of the murder who owns a shop near by, said this man didn't shout Britain first or any other terms, but the left wing news papers printed this to help the remain in Europe group who are now trailing in the opinion poles, are we now saying that all Muslims are terrorists after Muslims in their community killed lee rigby or planted bombs in London. This man had mental health issues exasperated by cutbacks to the mental health services by David Cameron and his side kick George Gideon Osborn, it's sad the the remain camp will do anything to keep Britain in the United States of Europe, including using the death of this innocent young woman jo cox for their own political gain. As I write this, the murderer of jo cox as bean charged with her murder, and as yet there has bean no investigation into what the truth is. I think that the salford star and the main stream media have sunk to new lows in trying to portray this murder as an act by the far right or trying to attach it to the brexit camp, when in truth this was a murder carried out by a man with mental health issues. I don't remember the salford star or other mainstream media saying after the murder of lee Rigby that all Muslims are terrorists, then the salford star and mainstream media shouldn't try to associate this terrible murder with the brexit campaign and people who want this country to be self governing and free from outside interference. As a brexiter, what this man did was not in my name or in the name of any of the people who want to leave the European Union and shame on anyone in mainstream news who try's to imply this is so. |
