"I suppose
 Old Man Trump knows
 Just how much
 Racial Hate
 he stirred up
In the bloodpot of human hearts
 When he drawed
 That color line
 Here at his
Eighteen hundred family project..." Woody Guthrie

As the knobhead Donald Trump inconceivably goes for the job as American President, more and more of his family's murky past is being exposed, none more so than by Will Kaufman, a Professor of American Literature and Culture at the University of Central Lancashire and an expert on legendary yank singer songwriter, Woody Guthrie.

Kaufman recently discovered some previously unpublished lyrics by Guthrie slating the racism of his landlord, Fred C Trump, who implemented a colour bar at his Beach Haven housing project in Brooklyn in the 1950s.

Not only was Trump senior later accused of ripping off the New York authorities to the tune of $3.7million for the scheme, a charge was brought against him in the 1970s by the Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Justice Department of "racially discriminatory conduct by Trump agents". Woody Guthrie, living at Beach Haven in the 1950s, rounded on Trump for the `Racial Hate/he stirred up/In the bloodpot of human hearts'.

These lyrics and loads more about Woody Guthrie will be discussed as Will Kaufman talks about his extensive writing on the radical singer - which has included the first political biography of Guthrie* plus two more being published next year - at Fishing in the Dustbowl, a musical fundraiser for the Working Class Movement Library, next Sunday 5th June.

As well as exposing the murky doings of the Trump family, Kaufman will also be singing Woody Guthrie songs; while internationally acclaimed singer-songwriter John Conolly will be performing his own songs, including classics, Fiddler's Green and The Trawling Trade, based on life in the east coast fishing industry. Conolly has also promised to do a few Ewan MacColl songs too...

The event is part of the Manchester Histories Festival and also a fundraiser for Salford's Working Class Movement Library.

I am doubtful about the probity of the Nevada Gambling Commission, given the history of that state. I was referring to the tax arrangements and corporate practices of the Trump business empire. The attitude to women displayed by Mr Trump is deplorable. You are OK with it? Apply the simple test: Would you be alright with anyone speaking to or about your wife/mother/daughter like that? I hope not. And again, the labelling of a faith held peaceably by millions, based on the actions of a nasty minority. Jimmy Savile was a northern white man, does that make all of that group monsters? No. Again, there is no relevance to the Clintons. They are appalling. That fact does not make Mr Trunp any less appalling. His idea of a wall - how would he react if another nation behaved in this way to the US? Donald Trump is the descendant of immigrants, as are most US citizens. There is something contemptible about denying the privileges that benefited you to those who come after - like your namesake and disability benefits. I am not a Leftie, as you insist on labelling me. I do believe in fairness, honesty and equality in public life and civic society. So should politicians. Instead, they create scapegoats and manipulate the gullible into endorsing tyranny.

@ Amanda bickerton, the artical is about his father being racist, not Donald as you are implying. Just because Donald wants to build a wall across the boarder with Mexico to keep out illegal immigrants doesn't makes him a racist, it makes him a patriot who puts the protection of his own countrymen and women first, on the case of banning Muslims, and only a temporary ban from America, the threat is comming from the Muslim community and like he says he dos not want them in America until they have been one hundred per cent verifyed who they are and what their motives are, for going to America. On Donald saying things about women, it's just Donald being a man, this started with a leftwing CBS ankerwomen who tried to talk down to Donald in a interview, Donald just gave it back to her and the delicate luvie got a bit upset. on the financial observations you allude to about Donald trump, Donald holds a Navada gaming licence, one of america's toughest licences to get, to get the licence you have to let the gaming organisation go through all you financial records, the clintons tried to imply Donald had links to the mafia, the gaming organisation, the toughest in America found nothing. On the clintons, Donald gave millions to the Clinton foundation run by bill, Donald is considering suing the clintons, as this foundation which the clintons claim is a charity is nothing more than a bank account that is bankrolling the clintons election campaign and lifestyle. Ps on Hilary Clinton look up Benghazi, left American citizens to die because she didn't want to miss out on her beauty sleep and try the 28 page document she and Obama are trying to suppress, an a official document on 9/11, stating the Saudi governments involvement in 9/11, 14 of the 19 terrorists involved were saudi's. The Saudi government have threatened to financially cripple the US if it releases the documents. And by the way I see another 26 German women have been sexually assaulted at a German music festival, three Pakistani Muslim men have been arrested and the German police are looking for more, typical lefties, love uncontrolled immigration, but not on their door step, wonder if cumberbatch, Geldof, brand have taken any immigrants in to their homes yet, as they promised. Listened to an American radio station yesterday, listened to a Mexican couple who live in America, teaching their young children to say the want Donald trump to be assassinated, this is the quality of people you get with uncontrolled immigration, no wonder Europe and the US are turning in to shit holes. Donald trump for president, hell, trump for PM of Britain

David Cameron, talking about the issues surrounding the Clintons is necessary. This is a separate issue from the racism and financial misconduct of Donald Trump. The problem of media bias is not a rational defence of the unspeakable Donald Trump. I assume that your reference to a separate issue, which bears no relation to the conduct of this man, is because there is no reasonable defence other than shared bigotry, which you have not got the courage to express, just as you hide behind a pseudonym rather than being honest and open.

Donald trump, at last a man with a set of balls, a man who tells it like it is. Let's hope he makes president. Why don't we talk about the clintons and the sexual assault on woman bill has been committing over the years that have been covered up by his wife hillery, or the trips bill takes on a multi millionaires private plane, who happens to be a convicted paedophile
