Ethan Evans, who never seems to stop fundraising for charity, has won the first Creamline: Cream of the Community award, after being nominated by his grandad, Edwin Green.
Ethan has done sponsored swimming, coin collecting and big social events to raise over £15,000 for charities, including St Ann's Hospice and the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital, over the last few years (see previous Salford Star articles – click here and click here), and as part of his award he gets to donate another £500 to his chosen cause, Asthma UK.
"It was a huge surprise to be chosen as the winner of the award scheme, as I didn't even know that my grandad had nominated me" says Ethan "I'm really excited at the news and am looking forward to donating the money to Asthma UK and adding to the funds I've already raised for charity."
Ethan has also collected over 100 kilos of food for the Salford Food Bank and is now set to be treated to breakfast in bed cooked by the team at the Cheshire Cookery School; while granddad Edwin will also receive a hamper of Creamline products, which he is going to donate to a local cause.
"The Cream of the Community award scheme showed we have many unsung heroes throughout Greater Manchester and Cheshire, with Ethan's amazing story standing out from the rest of the crowd" says Creamline's joint managing director Rob Purvis "We're thrilled to be able to contribute to Ethan's fundraising efforts, especially for such a worthwhile charity as Asthma UK and hope he and his grandad enjoy the other prizes."
