The S.E.A.R.C.H. Salford Community Committee is aiming to be a forum for all parents and carers of vulnerable people in the city, and is holding a public meeting this Tuesday night at the White Swan pub on Worsley Road in Swinton.
With cuts happening all over the city to services for vulnerable and disabled children and adults, and the elderly, S.E.A.R.C.H. is urging as many people as possible to attend...
"We are hoping that you will all be able to join us, there is a lot we need to discuss and hope many of you have things you also want to bring up" states the group, which is made up of parents, carers and a councillor.
The Salford Star has recently revealed legal problems with cuts to disabled children's services (see here) and the lack of a register of disabled people in the city (see here).
S.E.A.R.C.H. is almost like a self-help, self-defence group... "We are standing against the austerity measures and the lack of support for the most vulnerable in Salford, including the disabled, the elderly and support for families too...to try and make a positive difference for those most vulnerable."
Anyone who is worried about the cuts, or who has a story to share is urged to attend...
