Up to fifty community and campaign groups from all over Greater Manchester will showcase their issues at Manchester Academy 2 this Thursday from 7pm with stalls, videos and presentations, plus from 8:30pm a panel debate on the state of local activism, chaired by Kevin Gopal, editor of the Big Issue in the North, and Kat, editor of MULE.
"Groups will have their info stalls and they'll introduce themselves on stage with a five minute intro, be it a talk, presentation, or video" says Kat "We want to give the audience and the other campaigners an overview of what's going on locally and give them a chance to get involved.
"The idea behind the Bazaar is to bring people who campaign for different causes together and help them find more supporters and volunteers. Most people probably don't know how much is going on in the area and it can be intimidating to join a political group if you don't know anyone" she adds "We want to invite everyone interested to find out more in a friendly and open setting."
The Salford Star will be represented, together with a broad spectrum of campaign groups, ranging from Greater Manchester People's Assembly Against Austerity to Save Our NHS, Red Pepper and the Greater Manchester Living Wage Campaign.
