MARY BURNS - SALFORD COUNCIL ABSENTEES

OUT TO LUNCH!

Following news this week that Salford Council has the highest average overall sickness rate amongst Greater Manchester Councils, council tax payers will be pleased to know that this morning the Council will really be addressing this problem – or maybe not…

This morning at Salford's Civic Centre, councillors will be mulling over a report about `Ineffective Workforce Planning And Development', which can lead to the risk of "morale and motivation issues that can impact on performance e.g. increased sickness absence…"

One of the `control measures' to help alleviate all this is listed as `Quarterly Absence Management Workshops in Directorates'. There's even little boxes on the report where officers were to fill in Required Management Action, Monitoring Milestones and Progress To Date…

Sounds great…Except that not one of the boxes for the `absence management workshops' are filled in, there's no a word. They're all blank. What happened? Was everyone dealing with the `absence management workshops' off sick or what?

Great article . High council tax . Very poor value . High sickness levels . What a disgusting hellhole this dead city is . Where does all the extortionate council tax go ? Certainly not on the very poor 'services' . Perhaps the council can explain , if they are not too busy wielding the axe over more ' services ' or conning us desperate inmates with ' job creation ' bullshit .
