On Tuesday night a UFO was seen blazing over Salford Precinct at around 10pm.  Eye witness, Rachel, has described it as "a bright orange light, like a fire ball moving at a steady space. It was really weird".

It wasn't the sun by any chance? There's been similar spottings in Irlam a few nights before and all over Geater Manchester recently. There was even an `encounter' in Eccles last year.

Rachel has logged the alien visitors on the UK UFO Sightings website and asked for any other witnesses.  If anyone else saw the `bright orange light' please register it at

31.12.14 i noticed a bright light high up...travelling directly overhead from wythenshawe area heading towards manchester city centre..time was exactly 23.59 my thoughts were comet or shooting star...very very strange encounter...seemed to travel at a very steady pace and once in the distance turned from white to orange circle and vanished.....exact same encounter is on youtube filmed in bristol a year ago to the exact minute...very miffed by what my own eyes saw.

I've just been reading about ufo's seen in the salford area and so I would like to tell my story. It was about 6.20am the day and month I'm unsure of now but it was around February the year was 1995. I was at work and I'd just walked out of a building and looked up to see a transatlantic plane passing over head, it was about to land at manchester airport, when I thought something had fallen off the side of the plane, I soon realised the object was traveling at the side of the plane and as the plane turned to approach the airport, the object shot off at high speed in a S/E direction and within a few seconds vanished in the distance. Has anyone else seen anything like this.

Hi there, I am from Manchester and myself and my dad saw a strange Orange object travelling Horizontally above the M62 Motorway in the late 1970's. It moved very slowly and never had a tail like you would expect to see from a Meteorite, this object appeared to be roundish or maybe even slightly oblong in shape and in my opinion was not from this world, but an Alien driven object from another world...many sightings were reported that evening as my dad contacted the police he was told that the phones will not stop ringing...

At around 1 am on the 1st Jan.. Yesterday, a friend and I had just walked back from the fireworks display, Piccadilly gardens. As we arrived on to BurY ST, AT THE SIDE OF THE quebec building and Cross street. I was showing my pal how bright the stars were, as there were three , shining very bright. As we looked at it , there was a small orange light , slightly longer that a star and very high, that moved straight, then started to do small zig zag's downwards, to the left of the sky, trghen suddenly dissapeared. It lasted around 30 seconds, and was pretty amazing.. I thought t might have been a shooting star at first,,n but was way too slow, in comparison.. Great start to the NY ;-)

One day (can't remember what time of day, but it was light) around 1978, whilst walking down Weaste Road, just walking over the bridge to Weaste bus depot, i glanced over towards Manchester......in the sky i saw several different coloured lights, moving to and fro in zig zag like movements. I'd hate to think I was lying about the UFO sighting Over Eccles Manchester but I'm not ! Me and my brother Was stood in the back yard of the public house my mother and father was running when we saw a shining bright silver oval object with a L shaped object at the rear ! There was no sound for such a big unit and we both remember it as plain as day as we were stood directly underneath !

jan 1995 driving home from Salford to Winton, along Eccles New Road, stopped at the lights at Gilderbrook Rd,Saw what i thought was a helicopter moving towards us from the direction of Eccles bus station As it got closer i saw it a delta shaped craft, black, with lights on each corner,it was moving very slowly but sideways, and was noiseless.Icouldnt judge its height or its size but it seemed pretty low n large It suddenly stopped and hung motionless over the 602 roundabout;IASKED MY 14 YR OLD GRANDAUGHTER to get a good look at ,which she did, and verified that i wasnt seeing things,a few dats later, the Salford ADVERTISER reported that over300 people had notified the police,as far away as liverpool, No official explanation was give, but i later saw avideo of a group of the same craft flying over Brussels Belgium Other sightings of the same craft have been reported since

I have seen many sightings of unusual objects in the sky and they were definately not planes or any other small minded explanation those non believers want to come up with, I seen big orange white balls of light travelling real fast in the sky making no sound then they seem to disappear when you watch them as if they know you have witnessed there presence so they need to leave! I keep a very open mind and I know one thing is certain we are not alone your telling me that in the whole of the universe there is only one planet with life on it? Bullshit! If they have the technology to get here and we can't travel more than a few miles into space makes you wonder how very intellegent these beings really are and if they could be a threat?

Hate to bump an old post. Ive been looking since 05/11/2010 for some kind of reference. Im an undergraduate science student at salford uni. On that nigh just before entering the Wallness pub next to the park. I saw a light in the sky, I was outside the pub having a cigarette looking north east. It was stationary as far as my perception could tell (could have been moving back and forth but the light showed no sign of dimming or brightening so I doubt it). It hanged in the air for a few seconds after I saw it then made a sharp and rapid rightwards movement (cannot tell how far as I have no reference point for it). Then it appeared to move vertically again rapidly before making a diagonal downward left movement. These motions were almost instant then it vanished. This happened over a period of about 20-30 seconds and the object was far enough away to be unidentifiable yet indentifiable as not any registered commercial or military aircraft, in the planes of sight I had no object in public knowledge can perform those manoeuvres. This was not the same thing as stated in the original post but I think this is a good place to post this. I had a witness but the fool was looking at his shoes whilst I was pointing at the sky and yelling at him (like a madman?!). This was real and I hadn't even had my first pint! Did anyone else see something strange that bonfire night? It was around 16:00-17:00 I think. Clueless and baffeled!

I live in Eccles near the canal. I was in the back garden to let the dogs out and right above me was a light... orange, blue, red, like an orb just floating…no sound, nothing, it was just gently gliding. It was one of the weirdest things I’ve ever seen. Just wondered if anyone else spotted anything like it in Eccles last night.

Forget chinese lanterns. Lets talk about objects that seem to be under intelligent control. In response to angelo amoroso , me and my girlfriend saw something similar but a little different. We live in the lower broughton area and at around 2 am had been in the kitchen making some food. I had looked out of the window and there was a bright star in the sky(looking in the direction of strangeways). This was normal, and I had seen it the night before. I then went into my living room and back into the kitchen when I noticed two stationary white lights to the left of the star, and slightly above it. As I notified my girlfriend to come into the kitchen they faded away to nothing ie they dimmed. A short time later I started to see lights flashing on and off in different locations in the sky, so notified my girlfrind again to come and have a look. We then both witnessed a white light appear out of nowhere, it then dimmed a little and moved to the left and shortly after made a very bright pulse/flash, then carried on moving towards the left as it dimmed again into nothing. Five minutes later I saw something similar to what I have just described except this time it was two objects and no pulsing on this occasion, witnessed by both of us. I would also like to add that the night before I saw a bright star like object travelling from the salford preicent area( roughly)traveling in a straight line, at quite a slow speed, over our tower block, in the direction of the MEN arena. I have witnessed this many times in the five to six years that I have lived here, maybe ten to twelve times at a guess. These recent events that Im reporting happened on the fifteenth and sixteenth of august. The singular star object at around 3.00 am and the multiple sightings at around 2-3.30 am.

Caught a glimpse, gf had a bit of a longer look. Could have been a lantern?! Height was very hard to judge... didn't seem to be as high as an aeroplane. not an aircraft... no flashing lights just a constant orange. kind of weird.

A company part owned by Fred Done's brother, Peter, has a planning application going to Salford Council this week, to put up two horrendous blocks of apartments by the Black Friars pub in Trinity. Done's company, FICM, should be paying over £1.2million in planning fees plus providing 76 affordable properties but is set to avoid the payments due to `viability' issues.

Transport for Greater Manchester requested that the developer should at least provide two new bus stops on Blackfriars Road – but Done's company, apparently, can't even afford that. The Done brothers' wealth is estimated at around £700million.
