SALFORD AGAINST THE CUTS
DAY X DEMO
Wednesday 2nd March noon
Outside the Civic Centre, Chorley Rd, Swinton

On Wednesday Salford City Council will ratify its budget for next year, including £40million of cuts for next year and hundreds of job losses (see here). There will be a lobby of the Council from 8am onwards, outside the town hall with a demo and rally at noon

"The Council might say that it has a legal duty to cut services and jobs, but we feel we have a duty to fight against cuts we believe they will devastate this city for generations" says Tony Moore, Chair of Salford Against the Cuts "We want the Demo to act as a warning to the Council that if they do approve these cuts, they will meet resistance when it comes to implementing them."

The Demo is supported by Salford City UNISON, UNITE and the GMB.
