The Government's HOMES AND COMMUNITIES AGENCY (HCA)
and its agents PLUMLIFE, plus COUNTRYSIDE PROPERTIES and LPC and URBAN SPLASH
Yes, anyone who has a joint household income of up to £60,000 – yes £60,000! – can get on the `affordable house' bandwagon with help from the Government and the HCA's First Time Buyer's Initiative.
The scheme is quite complicated but anyone with a joint income up to £60,000 – yes £60,000! - can buy 50% or more of a property and pay nothing on the rest for three years, with small % charges thereafter.
Developments covered by the scheme in Salford include Countryside Properties' New Broughton…LPC's Hulton Square in Ordsall…and the Urban Splash Chimney Pot Park houses in Langworthy - "last few remaining" according to Plumlife's website - and we all thought the `upside down terraces' were so popular and sold out!
So anyone with a joint of income of £60,000 – yes £60,000! – gets public subsidy, and, we understand, the developers get a public subsidy too for taking part in the scheme – so everyone wins!!!
Er...except the poor people who can't afford to buy 50% of these houses – in other words, those in most need of affordable housing!
Ladies and Gentlemen. Please wave your wallets in the air for the winner of the FEED THE RICH AWARD…
