Salford nature comes to the fore next Saturday, 28th October, with a Celebration of Autumn, centred at Beesley Green Community Centre and venturing into Worsley Woods.
There's stalls, autumn crafts, apple bobbing, conkers, bird feeder and box making, fairy tree door making, a Forage Walk at 2:15pm, complete with leaf pressing; a Children's Treasure Hunt in the woods and an autumn themed Children's Art Competition.
There's also a 2km fun run for under 12s (£5 entry email@example.com for details and entry form) and Den Building for all ages, between 12:30 and 2:30pm (£2 per person), plus a chance to buy artwork from the Roe Green Art Group.
The fab day, organised by Worsley Woods Action Group in partnership with St Mark's Primary School, aims to raise money to improve the path through Worsley Woods which has been used for generations of children to walk from Roe Green to St Mark's School.
"We aim to improve the path, plant a hedge to screen the motorway and refurbish the pond in the nearby woodland" state the organisers "We have received support from Highways England and they have recently repaired the fence along the motorway. We aim to apply for a landfill grant for the work on the path and need to raise an additional £2,000 to unlock the grant."
