Part two of the Perfect Pair sees the aquatic circus world turn mammal asylum as the ringmasters of capitalism pull the profit strings even tighter around the psyches of both man and dolphins.

The cruel world of performing pool animals gets even madder with a gangster dolphin bullying his captive companions, taking on his trainer and deliberately flashing his, er, dolphinhood at little girls in the audience. Meanwhile, a female dolphin attempts to seduce her trainer, as her intended dolphin mate gets his sex kicks from a plastic penguin. Not so much Flippa as everyone's flipped. Not so much The Mirror Cracks as everyone cracks up.

It all takes place in the filthy, murky, sleazy, unfiltered waters of a corporate dolphinarium that's a metaphor for the filthy, murky, sleazy, unfiltered waters of big business where money rules the waves of humanity.

It's sad, it's mad and the gangster dolphin's b-a-a-a-d but it makes you want to dive into every page to keep reading what weirdness will happen next behind the scenes of the freak show that passes for aquatic entertainment.

As soon as I opened the first book of this trilogy, I was hooked !!! The second book is due to arrive any day now and I can hardly wait !!!

NIGEL PIVARO CONCLUDES SALFORD STAR FUNDRAISING WITH SALFORD PRECINCT AUCTION

After two auctions, two exhibitions and a pop-up shop over just ten days, the immediate future of the Salford Star has been saved, with around £3,000 raised by the community.

At Salford Shopping Centre yesterday, over £1,000 was raised as actor and long time Salford Star contributor, Nigel Pivaro conducted an auction of Salford relics and memorabilia... "This isn't just about raising money for the Salford Star" said Nigel "It's also symbolic in terms of raising awareness of what we've done over the years...shining the torch where councils, developers and companies don't like it shone..."
