Party In The Park is presented by The Amber Project, set up in memory of local teenager, Amber Lok, and always draws the whole community of Charlestown and Whit Lane together for one giant free celebration.
The line-up this year includes Salford’s king of hiphop The Unexpectable, street dancing sensation Elliott Campion, reggae star Kwabena, indie-rock resounders Sugarwood, Salford’s top singer/songwriter John Herring and riproaring rapper, Briggzy…
As well as the bands and singers, this year’s Party In The Park also stars well known poet, Jackie Hagan, the Silky DJs and some very special guests. There’s a full fairground, stalls, magicians, clowns and a puppet show.
Says The Amber Project’s Sarah McCulloch:
“This year we hope to top the other three we've had, and have loads of bands, rappers, dancers, rides and stalls to keep you totally entertained. The Day is for our community and families to come together and have a great party.”
For the Party this year, twenty young local people from The Amber Project have produced a special brochure and flyer, and have interviewed some of the acts taking part and taken their photos. Pick up the flyer around shops and community centres in Central Salford
Over the next few days we’ll be featuring all the details, so watch this space…
